Google’s UK revenue was down to £392.4 million in the second quarter compared to £405.9 million in the first quarter.
A reduction in spending by property advertisers was responsible.
Traditional media is also experiencing reductions, with Trinity Mirror’s advertising at its newspapers down by 12.6 per cent in May and June.
Hitwise reported that Google’s share of the UK internet search market was 87 per cent in May, Yahoo! had 4 per cent, slightly more than MSN search.
The UK represents Google's second largest source of revenues worldwide, one seventh of its total revenue.
Google's organic search results provide the bulk of consumer inquiries to our UK Local Search Business Directory and of course businesses can list their details 100% free of cost.
