The UK authorities give approval for Google Street View

The British Information Commissioner's Office has approved the use of Google's Street View software in the UK.

The tool is an add-on to Google Maps and Google Earth that offers photographs of streets and cities.

Google has overcome privacy concerns by blurring the faces of people and licence plates in the photos and the use of image removal tools.

Google was unable to advise when Street View would be available.

Our Local Search Business Directory now provides Google maps and will also provide Google Street View as soon as it is available, for the 1.6 million businesses listed, and there will still be no cost for the businesses to be listed.
